Keep your long distance relationship strong by following some of these tips.

Love in general is a wonderful feeling for all of us and being in love is one of the most phenomenal feelings. When distance comes between you and your love, there are many ways in which you can keep your love strong and healthy. A long distance relationship can be difficult and challenging at times when you long to reach out for your love, but you can survive the time apart. If you fell in love and there are miles between you now, follow these few suggestions to keep your relationship on track.

A long distance relationship can be somewhat of a test for each other, and will prove how strong your love really is. Every now and then, check in with your partner to see if they are happy with your relationship and tell them how you feel as well. Communication is extremely important in a long distance relationship.

Although you may not be able to see your love everyday at the drop of a hat, it is good to always try to be in touch in some way or another. Nowadays, we have so many technical gadgets and methods for communication. Whether you met online or off, you can jump on a messenger service like Yahoo or MSN to chat with your mate. If you both have web cams then you can see each other at the same time you talk or type. These forms of communication give a couple a wonderful feeling that they are close and connected. You can even play computer games together and just hang out and spend time online to feel close with each other. Your long distance relationship will be enhanced if you have a computer and are connected to the internet.

It is smart to discuss expectations with your partner. In a long distance relationship it is good to always ask for what you need from your partner, and be open to when your partner asks you for something they need. You may want more attention from them or might want to share some news with them, whatever it is, just ask. If either of you begin to feel neglected, alone or if you have any doubts that are worrying you, it is good to talk about it together. This will give both people in the relationship the reassurance they need while apart. Your love is your love for a reason and you both should want to be there for each other when needed. A long distance relationship can survive if you keep communication lines open.

In a long distance relationship trust is a key factor. Trust is very important in a relationship and both of you have to have trust in yourselves and in each other for your relationship to survive. If you do not have this trust, one person or both people in the relationship may get worried, have doubts, be insecure and create tension that is not as easy to overcome when there are miles between you.

Another way to keep your long distance relationship strong and to create trust is by always updating your mate on what you are up to. Tell them about the friends you have, the work you are doing and just your general daily experiences. This makes both people in the long distance relationship feel included in each others lives even if far away.

Being creative when you keep in touch is another fun way to keep romance alive while apart and can include anything from mushy e-cards, photos to posting real love letters. Fun emails, faxes and calling to say hello to your love is also a great way to keep your bond strong. Be creative and show them how much you are thinking of them. Your long distance relationship can grow stronger when effort and creativity are included.

Telling your mate how much they mean to you and how much you love them will always keep your love flowing. Compliments are always a bonus! You are both together because you fell in love with each others soul and heart, so it always nice to be reminded of how much someone loves you.
